CFU a scelta
Students attending the course must acquire CFUs in independently chosen ‘learning activities’. The number of elective CFUs the student must acquire is given in the Regulations for the student’s year of enrolment (https://www.vet.unipi.it/storico-dei-regolamenti-didattici-per-le-coorti-di-immatricolati-3/). All activities must include a final evaluation.
Optional CFUs can be acquired through the following activities:
1) Participation in seminars, congresses, events, etc. (seminars or other activities will only be recognised if a final test has been taken and passed).
2) Choice examinations at the Master’s Degree Course (vedi Regolamento Didattico).
3) Examinations at other degree courses of the Department of Veterinary Sciences and/or the University.
4) Internship: students may be asked to use the CFUs of their choice for a broader period of practical training in relation to the topic chosen for the degree thesis, and/or for the acquisition of relational and/or organisational skills.
5) Language level B2 (English or another language within the EU): this option is only valid for those whose admission decision to the degree course requires them to acquire language level B2, using 3 CFUs of their choice. In this case the exam must be taken at the CLI (Centro Linguistico Interdipartimentale: http://www.cli.unipi.it/certificazioni) or at another recognised certification body. The request for verbalisation must be sent to pratiche.studenti@vet.unipi.it and minutes will be taken by the Presidency.
In the case of examinations to be taken at other Degree Courses of the Department of Veterinary Science and/or of the University, it will be necessary to obtain prior authorisation from the Degree Course Council, by submitting a request in which the examination code, the name of the examination, the Degree Course and attaching a photocopy of the syllabus of the examination to be taken must be specified. The authorisation request must be sent to the Teaching Unit by e-mail to: didattica@vet.unipi.it together with a copy of a valid identity document (Richiesta autorizzazione a sostenere esami altri Cdl)
Those who wish to have other activities recognised, such as participation in seminars, congresses, events, additional practical training, etc., must send the application for the award of ‘CFUs of their choice’ to the Didactic Unit by e-mail to: didattica@vet.unipi.it together with a copy of a valid identity document (Richiesta riconoscimento CFU a scelta).
Studiare all’estero
The possibility of acquiring CFUs abroad is foreseen (studiare all’estero).

Tutorato
Tutors are three-year or master’s degree STPA lecturers and accompany course participants for the entire duration of the course.
The tutor teachers for those enrolled in the Academic Year 2022-23 are: Prof. Francesca Pedonese, Prof. Francesca Cecchi, Prof. Filippo Fratini, Prof. Roberta Nuvoloni, Prof. Sergio Saia, Dr. Barbara Turchi.
These are available to help clarify doubts about the training course. In particular, Prof. Nuvoloni, the Coordinator of the Internship Commission, will answer questions regarding the internship procedure.
You can contact the tutors by writing to stpadocentitutor@vet.unipi.it by stating the questions directly.
It is also possible to book an appointment, again by e-mail, at the virtual tutor room on Teams with the code w7jkc00 (link: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/team/19%3acf20d9b6ecc8495ca90dc4ef51b762cb%40thread.tacv2/conversations?groupId=d9990303-8595-4ffd-94a6-9e41f055a0ed&tenantId=c7456b31-a220-47f5-be52-473828670aa1).
Those enrolled in 2020-21 (who were assigned Prof. Fratini, who is part of this group) and 2021-22 can also refer to the same tutors.
With regard to male and female students enrolled in previous years, an individual tutor was assigned at the time. Links to the 2018-19 and 2019-20 lists can be found below.
Ricordate di contattare sempre una settimana prima i vostri tutor singoli per avere conferma circa la loro disponibilità a ricevervi, considerando che gli impegni Remember to always contact your individual tutors a week in advance to confirm their availability to receive you, considering that the teaching, research and institutional commitments of lecturers are not always predictable, so in some cases your tutor may not be able to meet the tutoring schedule indicated in the list. You can contact your tutors by sending them an e-mail. E-mail addresses can be found in Unimap.
N.B. Students who are not included in the list for their year or, if enrolled in years prior to 2018-19, cannot remember the name of their tutor may refer to the tutors of those enrolled in 2021-22.
