OFA TAAEC

Verification of required input knowledge and remediation of shortcomings

All students admitted to the degree program are required to possess adequate initial preparation in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, text comprehension, and elementary logic as reported in the appropriate CISIA page.

Possession of the required knowledge is verified through the TOLC-AV test offered by CISIA. TOLC-AV results previously taken on any date and at any other location using the same Test type (TOLC-AV) will be considered valid.

To students who obtained in the TOLC-AV a grade less than 1/2 of the maximum score obtainable for the Biology section, will be assigned an additional educational obligation (OFA) that must be fulfilled within the first academic year. Registration for examinations related to the educational activities of the years following the first is subject to such fulfillment. Students who have been assigned the OFA will be required to take the Biology online remedial course offered by the CoS. The student after taking the online remedial course will have to take a written multiple-choice test that will be considered passed upon reaching 70% correct answers. Passing the test will result in the fulfillment of the OFA.

The modalities of access of students coming from other University of Pisa courses, from other universities or already graduated will be defined by the course council taking into consideration the situation of each student for the allocation or not of OFAs.
