The three-year degree course in Animal Husbandry Techniques and Dog Education can be accessed with a High School Diploma. The training activities take place at the Department of Veterinary Sciences (DSV) in Viale delle Piagge no. 2 and at external affiliated facilities.
The degree course envisages two curricula:
1) Dog Breeder and Educator
2) Veterinary Technician

The following are required for the degree
1) Knowledge of a language of the European Union (5 CFU)
2) The possession of adequate computer skills (5 CFU).
3) The acquisition of 15 CFU of the student’s choice
4) The acquisition of CFU relating to internship activities:
Internship in itinere (2CFU)
Final placement (3 CFU)

The Degree Programme’s Counsil

The Degree Programme’s Council, is composed of the lecturers in charge of the CoL’s educational activities and of representatives of the student community, and ensures the smooth running of the CoL’s activities, exercising the competences provided for by the Statute and the regulations of the University of Pisa.

Paritetic Committee

The Paritetic Committee, chaired by the Course’s President and composed of an equal number of lecturers and representatives of the student community, is a permanent observatory of teaching activities, providing guidance or proposals to the Committee. Regulation

Review Group

The Review Group, appointed by the CoL President, is composed of the President, lecturers from the CoL, a student representative, the Head of the DSV teaching unit and at least one person representing the world of work. The group has the task of carrying out a periodic and planned review process of the LDC. The three-year Review Group, in addition to managing the AVA ministerial accreditation procedure (compilation of the SUA-CdL form, preparation of review reports and the annual monitoring form, etc.), has initiated a discussion on how to achieve a better definition of professional profiles and job outlets in the future. The results of the review and all other activities relating to the degree course are discussed within the Joint Committee and the degree course Council, thus ensuring that everyone is involved. Annual Single Sheet

The Annual Single Sheet of Study Courses (Scheda Unica Annuale dei Corsi di Studio – SUA-CdS) is the functional document for the design, implementation, management, self-assessment and redesign of the Degree Courses; it collects the information needed to make known the outgoing profiles, the training objectives, the learning outcomes, the roles and responsibilities involved in the management of the Degree Course’s QA system, the prerequisites for the periodic review of its system, any corrections identified and possible improvements. This information is published on the Universitaly Portal of the Miur, in the SUA-CdS form. The SUA-CdS Form is flanked by the Annual Monitoring Form and the Cyclical Review Report, which have the purpose of periodically verifying the adequacy of the learning objectives that the Course has set itself, the correspondence between the objectives and the results and the effectiveness of the way the Course is managed. A summary report of the results of the students’ evaluation of the courses in the previous academic year can be viewed on the University’s website at http://www.unipi.it/index.php/lauree.

Year coordinators

The Year Coordinators Commission is appointed by the President of the Degree Course from among the lecturers of the Degree Course and is responsible for collaborating in the organisation of the teaching activities of each year. Regulations

Apprenticeship Commission

The Apprenticeship Commission, which is composed of lecturers from the CoS, is responsible for managing traineeship-related activities. Regulation

Job Placement Committee

The Job Placement Committee, made up of lecturers from the degree course, is responsible for organising professionalizing seminars aimed at increasing students’ knowledge in the various professional fields. Regulation
