Trainees are expected to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the following areas
- Recognition of the main infectious and parasitic diseases.
- Laboratory diagnosis of diseases by viruses, bacteria, parasites in animals.
- Aetiology and pathogenesis of animal diseases.
Obiettivi Formativi Specifici
With regard to internal medicine, trainees must acquire theoretical and practical skills for the recognition and treatment of the main cardiovascular, respiratory, gastroenteric, neurological, dermatological, endocrine, haemopoietic, genito-urinary, oncological and behavioural diseases. They must be able to manage emergency situations and promote the health of pets through prevention and health education. In surgery, basic surgical techniques, operating theatre organisation and postoperative management must be learned. In teriogenology, specific clinical and surgical skills must be acquired, artificial inseminations and other reproductive procedures must be performed, and practical knowledge must be acquired to diagnose and treat reproductive pathologies in companion animals.
