Internship

Formazione in materia di sicurezza

Occupational health and safety training is required by law (Legislative Decree 81/2008).

The Occupational Health and Safety Course, provided by the University and aimed at students of the Master’s Degree Course in Sustainable Livestock Systems/STPA Magistrale Vecchio Ordinamento, is compulsory and must be attended prior to the placement.

It consists of three parts:

-General training (Module 1- duration of 4 hours),

-Specific training for low risk (Module 2 – 4 hours) and

-Medium risk specific training (biological risk and chemical risk) (Module 3 – duration 4 hours).

Modules 1 and 2 are delivered in e-learning mode, and the student will have to pass the relevant tests required for the issuance of the respective certificates of proficiency (one per module).

For enrolment in Modules 1 and 2 one must:

  • fill in the Form with your personal details where you declare that you have read the Privacy Policy
  • make the request for enrolment in the Health and Safety Course through the specific Microsoft Forms (Richiesta iscrizione Corso Sicurezza di Ateneo, comune per SZS e STPA magistrale). N:B: the request must be accompanied by a declaration of acknowledgement of the Privacy Statement, as per the previous point, duly completed.

Requests will be forwarded by the Department of Veterinary Sciences to the University (Fire Safety and Training Management Office, UGSA), which will activate access to Modules 1 and 2. Upon activation, students will receive an e-mail from the UGSA with the link and credentials to access them. After passing the tests, the UGSA will issue the relevant certificates of suitability for general training and for specific low-risk training.

Module 3 (medium risk specific training on chemical and biological risks) is delivered in asynchronous FAD (videolesson). To access Module 3, it is necessary to have passed Modules 1 and 2.

The test, which is necessary to obtain the certificate of proficiency, is taken in the department’s computer room.

The test is scheduled approximately once a month and dates are published on this page as soon as they are available.

The next test date is .

Enrolment must be done directly on the test.vet.unipi.it website under Enrolment for the SZS/STPA safety test. Registration requires authentication, which must be done by clicking on the Shibboleth Login button. The system closes registration the day before the test date. It is also possible to cancel the registration.

If more than one call is scheduled, please register for only one date in order not to limit the number of places available.

For further information, Dr Maria Novella Benvenuti can be contacted on 050 2216893.

  1. B.: At the end of each session the programme automatically shows the result of the test. If the student is not successful, he/she may retake the test at a later appeal.

The student, after passing the verification test relating to Module 3, may go to the teaching unit where, after appropriate verification (remember to bring the certificates of suitability relating to Modules 1 and 2), the complete certification (certificate of specific training, low and medium risk) will be prepared and delivered.

Recognition of prior training

The University recognises certificates for general and specific safety training carried out at other institutions, schools and organisations.

To verify compliance and possible exemption from the equivalent module, send your certificate to presidenzaszs@unipi.it. The certificate must contain the following data

– name of the training provider;

– personal data of the course participant (name, surname, date and place of birth or tax code);-

– type of course with regulatory reference and duration;

– course delivery modes;

– date and place .

N.B.: the general training certificate is a permanent credit, not subject to expiry. The specific training certificate is valid for five years from the date of issue.
