Attivazione contratti e convenzioni
Companies/private entities interested in working with the Department of Veterinary Science can send an e-mail to direzione@vet.unipi.it proposing a research activity in the form of:
Contract Research Activities (Contracts for third parties)
Third-party research is a paid service through which the Department makes its technological and scientific knowledge, as well as the professional skills of its lecturers, available to companies so that research, consultancy, training, professional and laboratory activities can be carried out in the interest of the company itself (client). The results obtained are the exclusive property of the client, unless otherwise agreed. The interested enterprise or external body must propose, to the educational-scientific structure of interest, the conferment of an assignment or the entrusting of a service or research etc. by means of a proposal setting out the terms, modalities and remuneration. The company, however, may directly access the activity of a routine nature, through a simple request on the basis of the fee schedules approved by the structure and visible on the Department’s website.
Collaborative research activities (research agreements)
Companies may be interested in carrying out collaborative research activities with the Department. These are agreements in which a research action of common interest prevails, on the basis of an agreed research project involving the cooperation of personnel and the use of laboratories and equipment. In this case, a contribution is provided for the facility to cover the costs incurred for the research. For further details please refer to contracts and agreements

How to start a curricular traineeship after signing an agreement with the Department of Veterinary Science of the University of Pisa Once the training objectives have been defined, in agreement with the academic tutor and the trainee, the company/body proceeds to enter the data required to compile the training project on the ‘Curricular traineeship management’ portal by accessing the reserved area using the credentials received (ID and PSW). As an exception, it is possible to enter the training project at the Didactic Unit, by appointment, only for the Companies/Bodies authorised by the Director as per the list published on the ‘Didactic Unit Reception’ page. At the end of the procedure for entering the necessary data, the training project must be ‘finalised’, i.e. made definitive and printed in three originals, each of which must be signed by the tutor (academic tutor, who may be a professor or researcher), by the company tutor and signed by the trainee for acceptance. The department (academic tutor) and company (company tutor) stamps must be placed alongside the tutors’ signatures. An original copy of the training project must be delivered to the Teaching Unit – Department of Veterinary Science – Viale delle Piagge, 2 – Pisa (during reception hours), in accordance with the deadlines and procedures set out in the internship regulations of the relevant Course of Study. After activation, the trainee may start the curricular training period and hand over the second original of the training project to the company. The third original of the training project must be retained by the trainee. Obviously, it is important for both the company/body and the trainee to take note of all the information on the University website in the ‘Curricular traineeships’ section.
Before starting the work placement, the student must print out the ‘Attendance Register’ which, at the end of the activity, he/she must hand in to the Department’s Didactic Unit, duly stamped and signed by the two tutors: company and academic. Please note that all forms concerning the placement must always be stamped and signed by the two tutors before being handed in. For the purposes of recording the traineeship’s attendance, if the company/organisation intends to use its own recording systems, printouts of the printouts may be submitted to the Department, provided that they are countersigned by the company tutor and accompanied by the cover page of the ‘Attendance Register’ mentioned above, completed and signed by the two tutors. All the documentation and forms required for the management of curricular traineeships are available on the Department of Veterinary Science website www.vet.unipi.it in the ‘Practical Traineeship’ sections of the individual Study Courses.
For all information on traineeships, the specific contact for both trainees and host companies/bodies is pratiche.studenti@vet.unipi.it.
