MV Exam Review Group

Regulation of the Review Group of the School of Veterinary Medicine

Art. 1 Purposes

These Regulations govern the operating procedures and define the composition of the Review Group of the School of Veterinary Medicine, henceforth referred to as the Review Group.

Art 2. Istitution

The CoS President annually appoints the Review Group.

Art 3. Composition

The Review Group consists of the CoS President (Head of the Review), any other faculty members of the CoS, a student representative, the Head of the Teaching Unit and at least one representative from the world of work.

Art 4. Functions

4.1 The Review Group has the task of carrying out a periodic and scheduled review process, with the aim of

  1. verifying the adequacy and effectiveness of the way the Course of Study is managed;
  2. searching for the causes of any unsatisfactory results in order to take all appropriate corrective and improvement measures.

The review activity carried out by the Review Group consists of:

  • analysis of the effects of corrective actions already undertaken in previous academic years;
  • definition of strengths and areas for improvement, which emerge from the analysis of quantitative data (entry into university, course regularity, entry into the world of work, opinion of students and graduates) or from problems observed or reported on the training course;
  • identification of actions to introduce corrective actions on the critical elements highlighted or to bring about improvements.

4.2 The Review Group is called upon to prepare the Course Review Report, which may be annual or cyclical. In particular:

  • The Annual Review is drawn up annually in order to monitor and promote the improvement of the effectiveness of training activities, their tools, services and infrastructure.
  • The Cyclic Review is typically drawn up at intervals of several years, depending on the duration of the Course of Study and the periodicity of accreditation and in any case in preparation for a periodic accreditation visit. The report mainly highlights the continuing validity of the educational objectives and the management system used by the study course to achieve them.

The Cyclic Review cannot therefore replace the Annual Review that must be drawn up every year as the perspectives of analysis are different.

In the event of a change in order, a Cyclical Review must necessarily be drawn up in addition to the Annual Review.

4.3 The parties directly and actively involved in the review drafting process are:

  • The CoS Review Group, responsible for the Review, with the function of compiling the available format/format;
  • Departmental Quality Manager, with the function of validating the reports of the LDCs of his Department;
  • The Department and LSC Council, with the function of approving LSC reports.

Art.5 Activities

5.1 The Review Group must be operational throughout the year, meeting several times to compile the review report.

5.2 Meetings of the Review Group are convened by the Chairperson, who also sets the agenda, at least five days in advance of the scheduled date, and are conducted in accordance with the normal rules that apply to collegial bodies.

Art. 6 Approval of the Rules of Procedure

6.1 These Regulations are approved by the CoS Council. Any amendments shall require the approval and resolution of the CoS Council.

6.2 With the entry into force of these Rules, all provisions contained in equivalent or lesser regulatory sources that conflict with them shall cease to have effect.

Approved by resolution no. 53 of the Veterinary Medicine Degree Council of 17/05/2017
